In the stamping die, the stamping die factory uses various metallic and non-metallic materials, mainly including carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, cast steel, hard alloy, low melting point alloy, zinc based alloy, aluminum bronze, synthetic resin, polyurethane rubber, plastic, etc.
The materials used to manufacture molds are required to have high hardness, high strength, high wear resistance, appropriate toughness, high hardenability, no deformation (or small deformation) during heat treatment and not easy to crack during quenching.
Reasonable ***ion of die materials and correct heat treatment process in stamping die factory are the key to ensure the life of die. For molds with different purposes, comprehensive consideration should be given to their working conditions, stress conditions, properties of processed materials, production batch and productivity, and focus on the properties of the above requirements, and then make corresponding choices for steel grades and heat treatment processes.
When the production batch of stamping parts is large, die steel with high quality and good wear resistance should be ***ed as the material of die working parts. The part materials of other process structure parts and auxiliary structure parts of the die shall also be improved accordingly. When the batch is small, the material performance requirements shall be appropriately relaxed to reduce the cost.
When the material processed by stamping is hard or the deformation resistance is large, the male and female dies of the stamping die shall be made of materials with good wear resistance and high strength. When drawing stainless steel, aluminum bronze die can be used because it has good adhesion resistance. The guide post and guide sleeve require wear resistance and good toughness, so low carbon steel surface carburization and quenching are mostly used. For another example, the main disadvantage of carbon tool steel is poor hardenability. When the section size of die parts is large, its central hardness is still low after quenching. However, when working on a press with a large number of strokes, it becomes an advantage because of its good impact resistance. For fixed plate and discharge plate parts, they should not only have sufficient strength, but also have small deformation in the working process. In addition, cold treatment and cryogenic treatment, vacuum treatment and surface strengthening can also be used to improve the performance of die parts. For the cold extrusion die with poor working conditions of male and female dies, the hardware die shall *** the die steel with good comprehensive mechanical properties such as sufficient hardness, strength, toughness and wear resistance, as well as certain red hardness and thermal fatigue strength.
The cold and hot workability of materials and the current situation of the factory shall be considered.
Pay attention to the use of micro deformation die steel to reduce the processing cost.
For molds with special requirements, mold steel with special properties shall be developed and used. The ***ion of mold materials shall be determined according to the service conditions of mold parts, so as to *** low-cost materials and reduce costs on the premise of meeting the main conditions.
